This week we discussed the
core value “We believe that quality of work is a form of worship.” Worship
is the human response to divine revelation. So how are you responding to our
Holy God? Are you carrying out His plan or are you asking Him to just bless
your best laid plans? Do you behave like a responsible adult or are you playing
a victim at the office?
·
We compare
ourselves to others
·
We feel
overwhelmed by the tasks before us
·
We say yes to too
many good things
·
We procrastinate,
then act all stressed out when it is our own fault
·
We try to carry
the burden, being the martyr
·
We think we are
being under appreciated
·
We don’t think we
are being challenged
·
We say we will,
when we know we won’t
·
We criticize
others who are out-performing us
·
We think our
ideas are better than other people’s ideas
·
We give less than
our best because we are just tired
·
We let our
personal life control our work life and vice versa
·
We get bored so
we let our mind wander and make stuff up
·
We feed off of
other’s dissention, misery loves company
·
We don’t ask
God what His plans are for us…
So many times we prepare
great plans and then ask God to bless them, when what we should be doing is to
go to God first and say; “Lord, what will you have me do in this workplace today
and how can I bring You Glory?” But it is our natural tendency to rely on our
own strength. Satan gets very excited about all the ways in which he can
distract us and take us away from what we should be doing; seeking and
worshiping the one and only God. God created us to work for His Glory, so how
can we captivate our mind when we are so distracted from the truth?
Try some of these mind
captivating “responsible” choices…
·
Go to God first
and say; Lord, I am Yours, what will you have me do today?
·
Get in God’s
Word, daily. Pray His Word. 1 Chronicles 16:11
·
Lift others up,
encouraging words are sweet, Proverbs 3:27
·
Worship with a
purpose, Matthew 5: 13-16
·
Give your burden
to God, Psalm 68:19
·
Challenge the
idea not the person, 2 Corinthians 7: 8-9
·
Schedule your day
according to what needs to be done for His Glory, Ecclesiastics 3:1-8
·
Be
self-controlled, James 1:19-20
·
Get your pride in
check, Isaiah 5:21
·
Know your
priorities, Genesis 1:1
·
Do not serve God
to please men, Colossians 3:23-24
·
Forget the past
and press forward, Philippians 3:12-16
·
A Love of the
Lord, motivates outreach to others, John 21:15-18
·
A person with a
changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people, Romans 2:29
·
Whatever you do,
do for the Glory of the Lord, 1 Corinthians 10:31

intertwined with our customer’s value experience. How are you impacting them?
What choices will you make going forward to ensure they are getting the best
experience of Jesus so they can turn around and bless those they encounter?
I found this on WikiHow. I am not sure I agree with #5. I don't see me ever getting tired of Disney!
I just re-installed Google Earth. (I installed it when it first came out but in changing computers just never got it back!) The latest version is soooo much better than the original. For example, you can run a flight simulator within Google Earth, view photos that users have uploaded and best of all, explore Walt Disney World in 3-D!
I will warn you that Google Earth is kinda memory intensive and there is a slight learning curve to make it do what you want it to do. But still worth every penny! (It's FREE!) So download it here and try it out.
I just found out today about the coolest website. It is www.twisney.com. This website marries Twitter (my newest favorite thing!) and Disney (my all-time favorite thing!). This site has people sending tweets (see Twitter in Plain English) about what they are doing at Walt Disney World. Twisney then maps those to Microsoft Virtual Earth maps to show you where the person is or where they wish they were. But be forewarned: it can be addicting!!
The Orlando Sentinel reported in March that Disney is seeking rezoning and de-annexing on what used to be the Osprey Ridge Golf Course. The plan is to build single-family homes, multi-family homes, condos and time-share units in this area. Read the story here.
